Block Printing

8 Apr

One thing that I absolutely love to do is block print.  For some reason I love thinking about what will be black and white.  When I carve out a certain area I love that the simple cuts I make will ultimately form a bigger picture.

Anyways, I love making these and it has a relaxing and calming effect on me.  Here are some sites of my favorite block printers, they make books and have mad skills. Betsy Bowen and Stephen Alcorn

Here are a few I have been working on:

LOVE!!!!!!!! The chick-a-dee one and the horse one and the Maple Moon one are my faves. Beautiful work. I remember Nancy teaching us this at Homeschool Group and you were definitely the best at it. My brain has a hard time working backwards like that, probably related to how terrible I am at math somehow. 😛

thanks Tonia, I didn’t add that I made these after I tried to paint a picture- major fail. I had to hurry up and make something that looked like I didn’t just barf on some paper, seriously Sophi can paint better than me =) ah the good ol’ homeschool group days!
